Deadly attacks on Mumbai were carried from inside Pakistan: Pranab

Condoleezza RiceNew Delhi, Dec 3 : External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee in a joint briefing with his American counterpart Condoleezza Rice, said on Wednesday that India would act decisively to protect its territorial integrity, adding that the deadly attacks on Mumbai were carried from inside Pakistan.

“I informed Dr. Rice there is no doubt that the terrorist attacks in Mumbai were perpetrated by individuals who came from Pakistan and whose controllers are in Pakistan,” he said at a joint press conference.

Mukherjee said there is a deep outrage in India against recent attacks and emphasised on India’s right to protect itself.

Pranab Mukherjee to visit Kathmandu

Pranab MukherjeeNew Delhi, Nov 24 : External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee will visit Kathmandu today to discuss issues, including the on-going peace process, economic cooperation and review of treaties and agreements.

Mukherjee will call on Nepal President Ram Baran Yadav, Prime Minister Prachanda, Foreign Minister Upendra Yadav and other senior political leader.

He will also be inspecting the Koshi Bank embankment and is scheduled to attend the ministerial level meeting of Nepal-India foreign affairs during his stay.

China regrets Mukherjee’s remark on Arunachal being a part of India

China FlagBeijing, Nov. 11: The Chinese Foreign Ministry on Tuesday expressed regret over Indian External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee’s statement that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India.

"We deeply regret the Indian side''s remarks that take no regard of the historical facts. China and India have never officially settled demarcation of borders, and China''s stance on the eastern section of China-India borders is consistent and clear-cut," spokesman Qin Gang said at a press conference on Tuesday.
