Eddie Murphy to play Richard Pryor in new biopicLondon, Feb 28 : Eddie Murphy will be stepping into the shoes of Richard Pryor for a new biopic, it has emerged.

Apparently the `Meet Dave' actor has given up his usual fee of 25 million dollars to take on the role of his idol.

Oscar-winning writer Bill Condon is reportedly involved in the project, reports The Sun.

Richard, who starred in See No Evil, Hear No Evil, battled drug addiction before suffering a fatal heart attack in 2005. He was 65.

He infamously set himself on fire in 1980 following a cocaine and booze binge.

Eddie Murphy’s multi-million pound child support deal with Mel B

Eddie Murphy London, February 8 : Oscar-nominee Eddie Murphy has reported clinched a multi-million pound child support package deal with former `Spice Girl' Mel B, ending their bitter legal battle.

As per the settlement, Murphy will pay 35,000 pounds a month until their daughter, Iris Angel, turns 18.

This simply means that the actor will have paid about seven million dollars by that time.

Eddie is also said to have agreed to see his 20-month-old child.

In 2006, Scary Spice made shocking revelations of a short fling with the Beverly Hills Cop star, and falling pregnant with daughter Angel Iris.

Murphy insisted at the time that it was possible that he was not the father of the baby.

However, when he took a DNA test, it was determined that Angel Iris was in fact his.

Eddie Murphy denies ‘Riddler’ role claims

Funnyman Eddie MurphyWashington, Dec 19 : Hollywood actor Eddie Murphy has denied claims stating that he will be taking up the role of `Riddler' in the new Batman flick. A representative for Eddie Murphy rebuffed the claims stating that the actor will not take on the role.

The representative said the claims were `not true', reports Contactmusic.

A British tabloid had earlier stated that Murphy would be seen as The Riddler alongside Shia LaBeouf as Robin in the new flick, tentatively called `Gotham'.
