Headed by Finance Minister P Chidambaram, the Empowered Group of Ministers on Spectrum (EGOM) will meet today, Monday, to decide on the issue of on one-time spectrum fee.

In its October 3 meeting, the EGOM could not take a decision on the issue of one-time spectrum for existing telecom companies as it had not received the legal opinion on the matter from the Attorney General.

Sources recently said that the EGOM would likely take a decision on the matter on Monday as the Attorney General had already submitted his view.

While hundreds of debt-ridden Kingfisher Airlines' employees have not received salaries for more than half a year, top executives of the company have received handsome pay increases.

Kingfisher Airlines Chief Executive Officer Sanjay Agarwal's remuneration jumped from Rs. 2.12 crore in 2010-11 for around Rs. 4.01 crore in the fiscal year 2011-12.

In the previous fiscal ended March 31 this year, Agarwal's pay package was the second highest among India's three listed airlines.

Honing its missile competence, India on Friday successfully test-fired nuclear-capable Dhanush - a naval version of Prithvi missile that has a strike range of 350 kilometers.

The surface-to-surface Dahnush missile was test-fired from a naval ship off Odisha coast. Blasted off at 11.25 am, the missile traveled along the pre-coordinated trajectory, and splashed down in close proximity to the pre-designated target in the Bay of Bengal.
