London, Jan 12 : A radio show host in Canada was fired from his job after he had asked a Canadian politician how it felt to be a sexually attractive mother. JetFM DJ Justin ''Drex'' Wilcomes had asked British Colombia premier Christy Clark the leading question after a male listener submitted it during the on-air interview, the Daily Mail reports.

As almost all major telecom operators like Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular and Vodafone continued to suffer fall in the number of subscribers, Reliance Communications managed to expand its subscriber-base further in November.

According to laset figures released by telecom regulator TRAI, Reliance gained a total of 1, 08,990 new subscribers in November, taking the total to 13.41 crore subscribers.

Raipur, Jan 12 : Soumyajit Ghosh Saturday became the youngest men's National champion at 19, denying India's top player Sharath Kamal his seventh title while Shamini Kumaresan culminated her season on a high note by dethroning Poulomi Ghatak in the women's singles event at the National Table Tennis Championships here.

Top-seed Ghosh beat the 30-year-old Sharath 4-2 and took home the Maharaja Pitampura Cup and Rs. 2.30 lakh for his efforts, while Shamini won 4-1 to receive the Travancore Cup and a cheque of Rs. 1.45 lakh.

Srinagar, Jan 12 : Residents of Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir and in Himachal Pradesh's Solang Valley are thrilled with the fresh spell of snowfall, as they feel it has provided them relief from the biting cold.

Basheer, a Srinagar resident, said: "It is snowing for the first in the plain areas of Kashmir. It is a matter of great happiness for us. The dryness in the air will soon vanish. Snow will provide relief to those who had fallen sick because of the cold weather. The tourists also will get to see snow in the city itself."

Tourists are also making beeline for the Solang Valley in Himachal Pradesh.
