Bangalore, Aug 28 : Infosys' board member Ashok Vemuri has resigned, the global software major announced Wednesday.

"Vemuri has decided to leave Infosys. As an integral part of the company over the last 15 years, he has played a significant role in building the company's market leadership in the financial services and manufacturing verticals and North America," the company said in a statement here.

Vemuri was also the IT bellwether's head of Americas and global head of manufacturing and engineering services.

New Delhi, Aug 28 : Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn Wednesday denied that his character in the socio-political thriller "Satyagraha" was similar to that of Indian politician and social activist Arvind Kejriwal.

"It's a fictitious story where the content is somewhere relevant to what is happening in the society today. There is no similarity between my character and that of Arvind Kejriwal. The film is not about one particular person or character," Ajay, here to promote the film ahead of its release Friday, told reporters.

London, Aug 28 : A compound found in broccoli could be key to preventing or slowing the progress of the most common form of arthritis, according to new research.

Results from laboratory studies showed that sulforaphane could slow down the destruction of cartilage in joints associated with painful and debilitating osteoarthritis, a new research published in the Arthritis & Rheumatismon journal Wednesday said.

In the research, mice fed with a diet rich in the compound had significantly less cartilage damage and osteoarthritis than those that were not, Xinhua reported.

New Delhi, Aug 28 : Multilingual actress Taapsee Pannu will dub in three languages - Hindi, Tamil and Telugu - for Hollywood actress Katie Sackhoff's character in sci-fi action film "Riddick". She is excited about the first-time opportunity.

PVR Pictures is releasing the Hollywood film in India Sep 6 in three languages, apart from English.

The distributors were on the lookout for a voice that would go well with Sackhoff's character, and the search eventually stopped at Taapsee.

Bangalore, Aug 28 : India's leading watch, jewellery and eyewear maker Titan is set to make helmets in its new avatar as a Company instead of Industry with the star logo as its new identity.

"As part of our strategy to foray into unorganised and underserved segments in retail space, we will enter the helmet market in early 2014, with a superior quality product to ensure safety and comfort of two-wheeler riders," Titan managing director Bhaskar Bhat told reporters here Wednesday.

New Delhi, Aug 28 : She was so much in love with the arc-lights, movie sets and camera that Kareena Kapoor used to bunk school to visit her sister and actress Karisma on the sets of her film.

When asked to share a lesson that she learned at school and would want to pass on, the actress jokingly said: "I don't remember any lesson. I used to bunk school a lot."

And when director Prakash Jha asked her where did you go after bunking school, the 32-year-old actress said: "I used to visit my sister on the sets of her film."
