Washington, Feb 12 : Astronomers have recently observed a multiple star system in the process of formation at the earliest stage for the time ever.

Multiple star systems that contain two or more stars orbiting each other are believed to be the most common type of stellar system in the Milky Way Galaxy.

However, the exact method of their formation had until now been open to debate.

Professor Stella Offner of the University of Massachusetts, and colleagues made the discovery while studying a dense core of gas called Barnard 5, located in a young star-forming region of the constellation Perseus, 800 light- years from Earth.

ONGC to pay Rs 8.7K cr subsidy as FinMin gives only Rs 5,085 cr

New Delhi: ONGC and other state-run explorers may have to pay about Rs 10,900 crore in fuel subsidy after Finance Ministry has agreed to provide only Rs 5,085 crore in cash subsidy for the December quarter.

Out of the Rs 15,981 crore of revenue losses fuel retailers incurred on selling LPG and kerosene at government-controlled rates in October-December, the Finance Ministry has agreed to make good only less than one-third or Rs
5,085 crore by way of cash subsidy, sources said.

The remaining Rs 10,896 crore will now have to be borne by Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) and Oil India Ltd. ONGC may have to shell out close to 80 per cent of this amount (Rs 8,716 crore).

The 14-times major champion, who had back surgery last year, withdrew from last week's Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, his second start of the season, after just 11 holes because of tightness in his back.

Woods would be expected to compete next at the February 26-March 1 Honda Classic at Palm Beach Gardens in Florida based on his usual tournament schedule, Stuff. co. nz reported.
