Parents Share too Much Information on Social Media about Their Kids

An event conducted in Michigan suggested parents to not share too much information about kids on social media as it could put them at risk. A new study has found that an increasing number of parents across the globe have been posting too much information about their kids on social media and putting the little ones at risk.

The study has been conducted by researchers from the University of Michigan’s C. S. Mott Children's Hospital. The researchers found that more than 50% parents who were included in the study shared personal information of them and their children. This could help other people with wrong intentions to identify the location of a child. The study also stated that about 56% parents surveyed shared embarrassing or private information of their children.

Group of anti-robot protestors rallied at SXSW to warn about potential dangers of AI

On Sunday, a group of anti-robot protestors marched in the streets of Austin, home to the South by Southwest (SXSW) culture and tech festival, to highlight concerns about the rise of artificial intelligence (AI).

The group known as ‘Stop the Robots’ consists of more than two dozen undergraduates at the University of Texas at Austin.

The group cited concerns about the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) and held signs that read ‘Stop the Robots’and ‘Humans are the future’. The protest group included 15 to 20 undergraduates and was led by 23 year-old computer engineer Adam Mason.

Spacecraft Technology has Advanced a Lot in last 50 Years

Five decades back, for the first time an astronaut carried out a spacewalk. On March 18, 1965, Russian cosmonaut Alexey Leonov completed a 12-minute spacewalk.

Leonov and others who followed him wore specially designed space suits. They were tethered and had helpful gadgets to manage their movements. If tether would not have been present, the astronauts would have floated into empty space.

In 2013, Captain Angus Campbell, from Kilda Cruises, caught a 515lb bluefin tuna in the Outer Hebrides waters. It was recently telecasted on the Outdoor Channel’s Trev Gowdy’s Monster Fish programme and got millions of viewers.

China’s Jiaolong discovers Large Deposits of Precious Metals and Hydrothermal Areas

China has successfully completed its first 118 days of deep sea manned submersible mining in the India Ocean. It has found large deposits of precious metal and has also found different hydrothermal areas.

China’s mission named as Jiaolong has discovered new hydrothermal deep-sea fissures that emit hot water. It is considered that the findings could pave way for more research in resources of seafloor sulfide deposits that are rich in different metals.

The hydrothermal sulfides are the deposits having copper, zinc, gold and silver. They are formed after the chemical reactions and remain on the seabed. The mission was a matter of concern for India. But China has taken approval for the same in 2012.

Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall start their Third Joint Official Visit to US

The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall have started their three-day visit to the US. They have arrived in Washington DC. During their stay, they will President Barack Obama at the White House.

It is the third joint official visit for the royal couple to America and will be spent majorly in the capital. In the Oval Office, Obama will have informal talks with them. British ambassador Sir Peter Westmacott said that the trip is expected to result into the best of transatlantic relationship.
