Melbourne, June 2 : Children become better communicators and more creative with the help of imaginary friends, finds a new study.

According to psychologist Evan Kidd from Melbourne''s La Trobe University, kids learn the complexities of spoken expression sooner with an imaginary pal's help.

To reach the conclusion, Kidd studied 22 children, aged four to six years, who all had imaginary companions and compared their communication skills with an equivalent group who had no imaginary friends.

The children were asked to describe a picture in a test designed to gauge their ability to take the viewpoints of others into consideration

"The kids with imaginary companions had better conversation skills,'''' Kidd said.

Here's another jolt for the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in Bihar.

Bihar's ruling Janata Dal-United candidate Arun Manjhi won the by-election to state's Fatuha assembly constituency. The JD (U) candidate overcame his nearest rival Punent Rai, nominee of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) combine, by nearly 10,000 votes.

It should be noted that the by-election was held on May 28 last month, following the death of JD-U legislator Sarjug Paswan.
