Islamabad, June 10 : The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has categorically rejected a written pardon reportedly signed by the Sharif brothers, which was produced in the Supreme Court by the Attorney General of Sindh, and termed it character assassination of the party's leadership by the government.

"Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif neither addressed any application to Pervez Musharraf nor they signed any pardon," PML-N Central Information Secretary Ahsan Iqbal said.

He said the present government was involving itself in mudslinging and was criticising the personality of Nawaz Sharif the same way as Pervez Musharraf had done.

New Delhi, June 10 : Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee will meet heads of public sector banks today.

Issues like review of interest rates of banks, credit growth and agriculture loans will be discussed during the meeting.

The Finance Ministry has been meeting bankers regularly using moral suasion to get them to cut rates.

The meeting will also take a look at infrastructure lending, capital adequacy over medium term and housing and education loans.

In latest research report, the firm said that Bharti Airtel is clearly a buy, so investors can accumulate the stock on dips. 

In addition, the firm has suggested a support level for the scrip at Rs 794.

Today, the shares of the company opened at Rs 791 on BSE. Current EPS & P/E ratio stood at 40.79 and 20.08 respectively. The share price has seen a 52-week high of Rs 990 and a low of Rs 484 on BSE.

Beijing, June 10 : China has denounced the honorary Paris citizenship handed over to the Dalai Lama, saying it poses "a grave interference in Sino-French relations".
