Islamabad, June 18 : Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said on Thursday that Pakistan did not ask for more time for crackdown on the terrorists involved in the Mumbai terror attacks.

Qureshi said all the outstanding issues would be brought on the table in the next Indo-Pakistan talks at foreign secretaries level.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had said on Wednesday that Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari had sought more time to act against anti-India militants because Islamabad's fight with the Taliban had entered a crucial phase.

Johannesburg - Leaders of the 15-nation Southern African Development Community (SADC) will hold an extraordinary summit in South Africa this weekend to discuss the political crisis on the island of Madagascar, the government in Pretoria announced.

South African President Jacob Zuma will chair the meeting of heads and state and government in Johannesburg on Saturday, the foreign ministry said in a statement.

New Delhi, June 18 : Protests continued in India over racist attacks on Indian students in Australia, as activists under the banner of Non-Aligned Students and Youth Movement (NAYSM) staged a mass demonstration in the national capital on Thursday.

"We are holding this demonstration and later we will be going to Australian High Commission to submit a memorandum to condemn the racial attacks on Indian students in Australia," said Subash Chaudhary, Chairman of NAYSM.

Belgrade - A Belgrade court on Thursday sentenced four former Serb policemen to terms of 15 and 20 years in prison for the murder of Albanian civilians in Kosovo in 1999, local media reported.

Four members of former special police unit "Scorpions" were suspected of opening fire at 19 civilians, mostly women and children, and killing 14 of them in town of Podujevo in north-eastern Kosovo.

Three ex policemen were sentenced to 20 years in prison, while one was sentenced to 15 years.

Washington, June 18 : US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton describing India as a force of positive change, pushed for stronger economic and diplomatic ties between the Washington and New Delhi.

"In a world where, lets admit it frankly, the headlines can get depressing, our relationship with India is a good news story and I think its going to get even better," Clinton said in a speech at a summit organized by the US-India Business Council in Washington D. C.

Brussels - The European Union on Thursday said it regretted Russia's decision to veto the extension of a United Nations observation mission in Georgia, calling it a blow to stability.

The 27-member bloc "regrets Russia9s decision," made on Tuesday, not to renew the observation mission's mandate in the fragmented country, EU countries said in a joint statement.
