Washington, June 17 : Scientists at the University of Central Florida say that they have created nanoparticles that may someday come to be used for targeting and destroying tumours, marking the end of toxic chemotherapies.

J. Manuel Perez, an assistant professor at the university, has revealed that the nanoparticles designed by his team carry Taxol, one of the most widely used chemotherapeutic drugs.

Washington, June 17 : Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) researchers have challenged the age-old belief that living near a fast food outlet increases weight-related problems in kids, and that living near fresh fruit- and vegetable-selling supermarkets lowers weight.

The researchers compared children''s weights over time before and after one of these food purveyors moved near the kids’ residences.

According to the BBC, Selvarasa Pathmanathan, one of the few Tamil Tiger leaders to survive the military operation, released a statement from an unknown location announcing the formation of the transnational government.
