Guwahati, June 20 : Residents of Hatisila Village near Guwahati are absolutely elated after the recent archaeological discovery of large number of cannon balls, believed to be of Mughal period.

Following a discovery by the Archaeological Survey of India, villagers hope that the fate of their underdeveloped village will soon change.

In a bid to display archaeological findings, villagers are keen to construct a museum, where researchers can come, bringing more popularity among the outsiders.

New Delhi, June 20 : Chief Minister of West Bengal, , has clarified on Saturday that he has been advised by the Union Home Minister P Chidambaram to ban the Maoists in the state.

Further, Buddhadeb said that he would give a serious thought to the Home Minister''s advice in view of the expanding influence of hundreds of Maoists, who in the past one-week have chased away police and killed government supporters in and around the Lalgarh in West Bengal.

The Maoists even went on to declare this area, predominantly a tribal belt as a ''liberated zone''.

Athens  - A moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 5 on the Richter scale rattled the Greek Aegean island of Samos on Saturday, the second quake to hit the region in two days.

The underwater earthquake, which struck at 11:28 am (0928 GMT), had an epicenter 280 kilometers south-east of Athens, off the Samos coast.

The quake startled locals but there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.

Gwalior, June 20 : Several workshops on the art of papier-mache are being conducted in Gwalior, solely for the specially-abled youngsters to make these young minds self-reliant so that they can earn their livelihood by learning various aspects of art.

"We have learnt the artistic papier-mache creations here. I want to request all my friends to continue practicing whatever they have learnt as it will help them," said Anil, participant at the workshop.
