Athens - A moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 5 on the Richter scale rattled the Greek Aegean island of Samos on Saturday, the second quake to hit the region in two days.
The underwater earthquake, which struck at 11:28 am (0928 GMT), had an epicenter 280 kilometers south-east of Athens, off the Samos coast.
The quake startled locals but there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
A day earlier a 5.8 magnitude quake struck south of the eastern island of Rhodes in the Aegean Sea. The underwater quake was especially strong in Turkey but no casualties or damage were reported.(dpa)
