Hanover, Germany - Spain has been awarded partner status at next year's CeBIT, the annual computer show in Germany, organizers said in Hanover on Monday.

Partner nations at German trade fairs usually send their leaders to the fair opening, gain access to German business leaders at a trade conference and win special attention in the news media.

The organizers of CeBIT, which will be held March 2-6, noted that Spain was one of Europe's top five markets for digital technology and Spain's own technology industry was developing fast.

New York, June 22 : Truman Capote may have sourced at least 20 films and television dramas, but the writer himself led a tortured life, claims a forthcoming memoir.

Edmund White recalled his chat with the Breakfast At Tiffany's writer and his life in New York for a magazine piece in the memoir.

"All through the interview, Capote kept dashing out of the room to sniff more cocaine," the New York Post quoted White as saying.

London, June 22 : Pakistan People's Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has revealed that he never wanted to get involved in practical politics.

"It was never my desire to join practical politics," the Daily Times quoted Bilawal, as saying.

Bilawal vowed to fulfil the commitments made by his party, and said: "My mother (late Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto) sacrificed her life for democracy and fulfilled her promise."

London - Britain on Monday pledged a further 5 million pounds (8 million dollars) in transitional aid to Zimbabwe to support what Prime Minister Gordon Brown called "great signs of progress" toward "genuine recovery."

Brown made the announcement following talks with Zimbabwean Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangarai in London, but stressed that the new money would be channelled through aid agencies and not the government.

The latest aid would be used to secure food supplies and buy textbooks for schools, said Brown. It would bring the total of British transitional aid for Zimbabwe this year to 60 million pounds.
