Scientists find how brain condition ruins the connections between brain cells

A group of scientists has discovered how the brain condition badly affects the connections between brain cells, giving way to a new hope that fresh treatments for Alzheimer's disease may be underway now. The scientists said that their findings are a significant breakthrough in understanding the disease.

The loss of brain synapses is among the first signs of Alzheimer's disease. When a person is suffering from Alzheimer's disease, these connections of neurons decrease. Furthermore, these brain connections are needed for learning and forming memories.

In fact, even a person suffers from just mild cognitive impairment, these synapses collapse much before the nerve cells die.

Mysterious object on Mars makes astronomers think Red Planet has a mouse problem

Mars has a mysterious object, seeing which some think the Red Planet has a mouse problem.

Recently, NASA’s Mars Curiosity rover captured a picture from the planet. Enhancing the image on his YouTube page, amateur astronomer Joe White noted that the object looked like a ‘possible quite huge mouse or other rodent’.

However, White has also admitted that the object is, ‘probably an optical illusion’. NASA’s Curiosity rover has been studying mars for over 3 years and trying to find out whether the planet can support life.

The huge ‘mouse’ on the Red Planet isn’t a mouse, a cat or a baby lion, instead is a rock or rocks that look like a rodent. We have a lot of rocks on Earth that form different stuff, and each one is sculpted by nature.

Veterinarians euthanize stranded dolphin calf found in Elkhorn Slough

A dolphin calf that was saved after being stranded in upper Elkhorn Slough has been euthanized by veterinarians. The Sausalito-based Marine Mammal Center spokeswoman said that on Saturday, the health of the pre-weaned dolphin was getting deteriorated after being taken away from its mother.

Laura Sherr mentioned that veterinarians after consulting the National Marine Fisheries Services have reached a conclusion that the young dolphin couldn't survive in the wild on its own, so they took the most humane option and decided to euthanize the animal.

‘Two degrees Celsius’ Model divides Climatologists

World leaders have arrived at Paris to take part in the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference and decide how to tackle global warming. It is believed that a topic ‘two degrees Celsius’ will be discussed in this week’s climate change talks in Paris.

A number of climate scientists have experts argued that a rise of two degrees Celsius in earth’s global air temperature will be catastrophic for all living beings. But many other researchers think the rise of two degrees Celsius is result of weak studies. They are convinced that the climate change is real, but the two degrees is an impractical spur to policy action.

Climate Change Refugee Population growing rapidly in Arkansas

Effects of climate change can be seen everywhere. The change in the statistical distribution of weather patterns is not only forcing wild animals to look for new habitats, but is also influencing humans to leave their current places. Recently, an increase has been noticed in refugees in Arkansas. The growing population of refugees has been linked to climate change.

Due to the change in climate, last year, a native of the Marshall Islands, Valentino Keimbar, travelled thousands of miles from his place in the Pacific Ocean to Springdale. About 70,000 people in Marshall Islands, which is a place six feet above sea level between Hawaii and Australia, are living in tough weather conditions.
