Japan is all set to Resume Whale Hunt Activities in Antarctic

Japan’s Antarctic whale hunt has been a matter of criticism from a long time. An international court had ordered the East Asian country to stop its whale hunting activity in Antarctica for about 12 months. Now, according to the International Whaling Commission (IWC), Japan is all set to send its send its ships on whale hunt again. The country could send whaling ships on Tuesday, IWC said.

There are reports that Japan has planned to kill approximately 333 minke whales every years for next 12 years. The new numbers are one-third of its previous whale killing numbers in Antarctica. After facing criticism from all sides, the Japanese government had said that the whale killing was part of scientific research, and not a commercial operation.

New Research suggests ‘Men are From Mars, Women are from Venus’ isn’t True

Researchers who tried to find a difference between male brain and female brain concluded that human brains do not fit into one category. There is nothing like male brain or female brain, they added.

Some people believe that a male’s brain is different from a female brain. A new research analyzed over a hundred previous studies and found that on average, a male brain’s volume is about 8% to 13% greater than a female brain’s volume. A last year report in the journal Neuroscience and Biobehavioral Reviews suggested that there could be differences in brain areas that manage memory, behavior, emotion and language.

Long-extinct Creature Tribrachidium ate with More Complexity than Earlier Thought

Biologists used principles of computational fluid dynamics and found that Tribrachidium, a tri-radially symmetrical fossil creature that lived during the late Ediacaran seas, was a suspension feeder. The animal ate floating food particles from its surrounding water.

The biologists used computer models to simulate the feeding behavior of Tribrachidium. The mysterious extinct organism’s link to today’s species has baffled scientists for a long time. Before the new findings, scientists believed that the organism that lived on the planet millions of years ago formed simple ecosystems.

Researchers analyze Dinosaur Eggs to find Link between Nesting Habits of Bird and Dinosaur

A new study published in PLOS One reported that nesting habits of today’s birds and crocodiles could give a hint about how ancient dinosaurs incubated their eggs. Study researchers, after analyzing dinosaur eggs, found that most dinosaur species incubated their eggs like today’s crocodiles do.

As per the researchers, they examined more than two dozen types of dinosaur eggs. After analysis, they realized that like modern crocodiles, ancient dinosaurs had a habit of burying their eggs in nests. These nests were usually covered with vegetation and dirt, the researchers added.

Scientists find how brain condition ruins the connections between brain cells

A group of scientists has discovered how the brain condition badly affects the connections between brain cells, giving way to a new hope that fresh treatments for Alzheimer's disease may be underway now. The scientists said that their findings are a significant breakthrough in understanding the disease.

The loss of brain synapses is among the first signs of Alzheimer's disease. When a person is suffering from Alzheimer's disease, these connections of neurons decrease. Furthermore, these brain connections are needed for learning and forming memories.

In fact, even a person suffers from just mild cognitive impairment, these synapses collapse much before the nerve cells die.
