NASA's New Horizons spacecraft’s latest released data has pointed towards more prevalent water ice on the surface of Pluto than thought earlier.

A false colored picture obtained from observations in infrared light by the Ralph/Linear Etalon Imaging Spectral Array (LEISA) instrument has shown the parts where the spectral features of water ice are in abundance on the surface of Pluto.

The image is based on two LEISA scans of the dwarf planet derived on July 14, 2015, from a range of nearly 67,000 miles.

The multiple-armed aquatic animal octopus was believed to have social life, but around 15 years back it was considered that it lives solitary. Now again that old belief is in vogue. Recently a diver, Matthew Lawrence, in Jervis Bay noticed unusual social behavior of octopuses, which were seen changing body color and shape while in company of their mates in a group and even were seen throwing debris on each other. This all signaled that they were trying to resolve the fights. Lawrence mentioned his observation on a website, which soon caught attention of international octopus researchers.

A seven-feet-tall bird known as Genyornis newtoni dwelled in the Australian continent some 50,000 years ago. The researchers are claiming to have found strong evidence that human activities were responsible for the extinction of this bird that weighed around 500 pounds. Researchers are suggesting that humans harvested the eggs of this flightless bird. The study reveals that as humans ate the cantaloupe-sized eggs, it slowly deteriorated the reproduction ability of the birds and, thus, was unable to sustain their population.

The Americans for Safe Access Foundation (ASA) has prepared an annual report that involves the assessment of 40 states across the nation in relation to its medical marijuana program. New Jersey has obtained ‘C’ grade in the evaluation undertaken by the non-profit association that lobbies for cannabis patients. Meanwhile, a few patients were of the view that the state should have got a D or an F for the implementation of the program.

Though the ASA gave credit to the state for adopting the program, but the decelerated pace of execution got New Jersey poor marks, which were also the outcome of permitting very less patients’ participation in the program. The state currently has only 5,000 enrollees in the program.
