Wellington [New Zealand], Sept. 19 : New Zealand all-rounder Corey Anderson has been recalled to the ODI squad as a specialist batsman for the five-match series against India, starting in Dharamsala on October 16.

Anderson played his last international game during the World T20 in India before a back injury ruled him out of the tours of Zimbabwe and South Africa.

Reflecting on his recall, New Zealand Cricket (NZC) selector Gavin Larsen said that Anderson had done a lot of hard work to make a return to the national squad, adding that his presence would surely strengthen the middle-order.

Presented by former 'N. Y. P. D. Blue' stars Jimmy Smits and Dennis Franz, 'GOT' co-creator and showrunner David Benioff accepted the honour on behalf of the project, reports People Magazine.

During his acceptance speech, Benioff said, "We're standing up here because we have the best producers in the business. We have the best cast that I think has ever been assembled from Wales, England, Ireland, Scotland and from New Jersey."

Screenwriter and executive producer D. B. Weiss added, "We're standing up here because George R. R. Martin created the world we now play in."

Washington [USA], Sept. 19 : The United States has condemned the terrorist attack on the Indian Army base in Uri which killed 17 soldiers and said it is committed to support New Delhi in combating terrorism.

In a statement, US Department Spokesperson John Kirby said, "the United States strongly condemns the terrorist attack on an Indian army base in Kashmir during the early morning of September 18. We extend our condolences to the victims and their families. The United States is committed to our strong partnership with the Indian government to combat terrorism."

Yesterday, United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon also condemned the attack.
