Modi's speech an 'empty threat' from Islamabad's perspective: Pak author Tarek Fatah

Geneva [Switzerland], Sept. 25 : After Prime Minister Modi's strongly worded speech against Pakistan, Pakistani author and analyst Tarek Fatah said that for Islamabad such speeches are just empty threats until it directly feels the heat.

"It is encouraging that he (Prime Minister Modi) has brought it up one more time, but it depends whether it is having any effect on the Pakistani military government or not. I don't think Pakistan takes anything seriously because from their perspective, these are just empty threats," Fatah told ANI.

He said that unless the Government of Pakistan feels the heat directly, there will not be any change in their attitude.

New Delhi [India], Sept.24 : Indian scientists have validated the scientific basis of the mysterious 'special power' of the water of Ganga, which Hindus consider as "Brahm Dravya" or divine elixir.

Microbiologists from the Chandigarh-based Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTECH), who had studied the special characteristics of Ganges water have found, for the first time, several Bacteriophages, which keeps it non-putrefying. Bacteriophage is a type of virus that eats bacteria.

Washington D.C [USA], Sept. 24 : Household dust exposes people to a wide range of toxic chemicals from everyday products, states a recent study conducted at the George Washington University.

The team conducted a first-of-a-kind meta-analysis, compiling data from dust samples to identify the top ten toxic chemicals commonly found in dust.

They found that DEHP, a chemical belonging to a hazardous class called phthalates, was number one on that list.

In addition, the researchers found that phthalates overall were found at the highest levels in dust followed by phenols and flame retardant chemicals.
