New Delhi [India], Oct 8 : mjunction services limited, who have been selected by DoT for conduct of e-auction of telecom spectrum, have successfully conducted the auctions for the second time in a row.

The auction which continued for five days, from October first to sixth of

October, has brought an overall 3.35 percent appreciation in auction value over the reserve price for the Spectrum sold.

mjunction used Simultaneous Multiple Round Auction (SMRA) methodology, an internationally well accepted methodology, to conduct the e-auction.

Opting to bat first, India started slowly on a pitch, which looked a little tacky for batting. The hosts lost opener Murali Vijay for mere 10 runs off Jeetan Patel's delivery.

Veteran batsman Gautam Gambhir, who was making a Test comeback after a gap of two years following Shikhar Dhawan's right thumb injury in the Kolkata Test, then steadied his side's innings along with opener Cheteshwar Pujara.

The duo added 26 runs in India's first innings before Gambhir got dismissed by Trent Boult after making just 29 runs.

Washington D.C [USA], Oct. 8 : Prisoners have one of the highestrates of lifetime trauma, and a recent survey has shown that 85 percent have been victims of a crime-related event, such as a robbery, home

invasion, or physical or sexual abuse.

Trauma is associated with higher rates of recidivism (returning to prison) and mental and physical health conditions, including cardiovascular disease.

To try to find a remedy for the high rates of trauma among prisoners, an innovative study with transcendental meditation was implemented in a large group of Oregon male inmates.

Washington D.C. [USA], Oct. 8 : For most cancer patients, the uncertainty and stress that can come with its treatment is compounded by what is now known as "financial toxicity", suggests a recent study.

An earlier research demonstrates how a survey can measure a patient's risk for and ability to tolerate financial stress.

With data from 233 patients going through treatment for advanced cancers, the researchers showed that the COST (Comprehensive Score for financial Toxicity) questionnaire identified patients at financial distress, which was found to be a "clinically relevant patient-centered measure."

Study's lead author Jonas de Souza said, "As expected, we found a strong association between a patient's use of health care resources and his or her sense of financial toxicity."

Washington D.C [USA], Oct. 8 : A recent research shows that children, whose mothers take Vitamin D during pregnancy with resultant high levels of the vitamin in the umbilical blood, have fewer symptoms of Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) till the age of two and a half years.

Lead researcher Niels Bilenberg explained, "for every 10 nmol/L increase in the Vitamin D concentration in umbilical blood, the risk of a being among the 10 percent highest score on the ADHD symptom scale fell by 11 percent."

1,233 children from Odense Municipality were monitored in the study.

Vitamin D was measured in umbilical blood and mothers completed the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL) of their children below two and a half years.
