Washington D.C. [US], Oct. 14 : A recent research carried out at the University of Michigan examined how the negative quality of marriage can be a contributing factor to weight gain, possibly leading to obesity, when couples are stressed.

The results though varied by gender.

The study specifically focused on chronic stress, which is an ongoing circumstance occurring for more than a year and threatens to overwhelm an individual's resources, such as financial problems, difficulties at work or long-term care giving.

Participants came from the nationally longitudinal Health and Retirement Study at the U-M Institute for Social Research.

Washington D.C. [US], Oct. 14 : Fifteen percent of sixth-grade students reportedly committed at least one form of abuse toward a dating partner through technology, according to a new study conducted at The University of Texas Health Science Center.

The researchers analyzed survey results from 424 sixth-grade students in Southeast Texas who had a boyfriend or girlfriend and had just been enrolled in a trial for the study 'Me & You: Building Healthy Relationships'.

The study is a classroom and computer-based curriculum to teach youth the importance of having healthy relationships and how to make good decisions in their relationships with peers, friends, family and future dating partners.

London [UK], Oct. 14 : Looks like Harry Potter fans are in for a bigger magical treat as J.K. Rowling recently confirmed that there will be four more movies following the upcoming prequel, 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.'

J.K. Rowling has confirmed the 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' movie series will consist of five movies in total, reports the Mirror.

The news was revealed at a global Q&A event from London.

All the cast members including Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler along with director David Yates were present while the likes of Colin Farrell and Jon Voight joined from LA.

Washington D.C. [US], Oct. 14 : Shunning popular beliefs that people smoke cigarettes because they're addicted to the nicotine, a recent study shows that among US teens who are frequent smokers, 46 percent of girls and 30 percent of boys smoke to control their weight.

And smoking to lose weight is significantly more common among teens, who feel they must slim down.

Girls who said they were "much too fat" were nearly 225 percent more likely to smoke to lose weight than girls who said their weight was about right.

For boys, being overweight was less of a predictor for smoking, perhaps because they feel less pressure from society to lose weight than girls do.

The intestines play a crucial role in oxalate balance and Oxalobacter formigenes (Of) is an anaerobic bacterium that lives in the large intestine and utilizes oxalate as its exclusive energy source.
