Washington [USA], Oct. 15 : The United States has once again urged Pakistan to take actions to combat and delegitimize all terrorist groups operating on its soil.

US State Department Deputy Spokesperson Mark Toner made the remarks while responding to a question about Washington's position on China blocking the ban called by India on Pakistan based Jamaat-ul-Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed, whom the US has also designated as a terrorist.

Though Toner did not reply to the specific question, he said, "I would just say that we continue to urge Pakistan to take actions to combat and delegitimize all terrorist groups operating on its soil."

Kabul [Afghanistan], Oct. 15 : Operation 'Zarb-e-Azb' by the Pakistani armed forces against various terrorists groups, especially against Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), in North Waziristan along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border on 15 June, 2014 has claimed hundreds of lives thus far and rendered thousands of Pashtuns homeless. They have alleged that Pakistan is looking for one or the other excuse to destroy them.

Washington [USA], Oct. 15 : The United States has blacklisted four Pakistanis and banned their companies on charges of money laundering.

According to details, Obaid Khanani, Huzaifa Khanani, Javed Khanani and Atif Polani were blacklisted by the United States of America on Tuesday, reports The News.

The companies operated by the four of them were also blacklisted by the United States Treasury Department as it was alleged that these companies used to launder money of drug dealers.

These companies have been set up in Pakistan and UAE. It was alleged that the companies laundered money for criminals based in China, Mexico and Columbia.

Obaid Khanani is the son of Altaf Khanani, who is currently under arrest in America on charges of laundering money for the Taliban.

Damascus [Syria], Oct. 15 : Amid ongoing violence in Syria, President Bashar al-Assad has insisted that the country's armed forces must continue "to clean" up Aleppo city, even as diplomats are preparing to halt bloodshed in rebel-held areas of the city.

A renewed Syrian army offensive, supported by the Russian air power, against eastern Aleppo, has claimed the lives of more than hundred civilians in recent days, which has prompted the American- backed western forces to accuse Assad and his supporters of war crimes.

In an interview to a Russian newspaper, Assad said recently that the Syrian government has no option but to press on with its offensive.

New Delhi [India], Oct. 14 : The key to preventing obesity in future generations is to make their parents healthier before they conceive, suggests a recent research.

In a series of papers, the researchers said that the time before couples conceive represents a missed opportunity to prevent the transmission of obesity risk from one generation to the next.

They argue that a new approach is needed to motivate future parents to live a healthier lifestyle.

There is now a wealth of evidence that the risk of obesity and its associated conditions, such as heart disease diabetes and some cancers, could impact the developing baby.

In turn, when the child becomes a young adult they may pass the risk of obesity on to their children - it is a vicious cycle.

New Delhi [India], Oct. 14 : IT solutions provider Infosys reported a rise of 4.9 percent to Rs. 3,606 crore in the July-September quarter, thereby standing up to the analysts' expectations.

The company's rupee revenue rose 3.14 percent to Rs. 17,310 crore and dollar revenue was up 3.4 percent at USD 2,587 million on sequential basis, which were in line with estimates.

The country's second largest IT company slashed its revenue guidance for FY17 from 10.5-12 percent to eight to nine percent.

"We focused on strong execution in Q2 with core IT services business showing

good progress on the strength of innovation and operational initiatives," said Infosys CEO Vishal Sikka.
