China urges Japan to stop inciting regional conflict

Beijing [China], Oct. 22 : China has urged Japan to stop inciting regional conflict over the South China Sea dispute and play a constructive role in regional peace and stability.

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying on Friday said at a press briefing, "We urge the Japanese side to immediately stop driving a wedge among regional countries and play a constructive role to regional peace and stability."

She made the remarks upon being asked about a Kyodo News report, saying the Japanese Government is increasingly worried and plans to urge the Philippines to respect the South China Sea arbitration ruling as Chinese and Philippine leaders agreed to set aside relevant disputes in the South China Sea.

JK: Pakistan continues to violate ceasefire in RS Pura sector

Jammu [India], Oct. 22 : Pakistan rangers continued to violated ceasefire along the International Border in the RS Pura sector of Jammu district by resorting to small arms fire late last night.

Deputy Commissioner Jammu Simrandeep Singh said that people have been advised to stay indoors and the situation is being monitored by the authorities.

A BSF officer said that jawans are giving befitting reply to Pakistan Rangers.

The latest ceasefire violations comes hours after the BSF killed seven Pakistan Rangers and one terrorist in the retaliatory fire in the Kathua sector along international border in Jammu and Kashmir.

The BSF said that Pakistan Rangers resorted to sniper attacks at Indian posts at Hira Nagar in Kathua at around 9:35 a.m. yesterday.

Pak spy arrested in Samba for passing information on security forces to Pakistan

Jammu [India], Oct. 22 : In a major breakthrough regarding national security, a Pakistani spy has been arrested in Samba sector of Jammu and Kashmir as he was making attempts to escape.

The spy named Bodh Raj was held along with two Pakistani SIM cards and a map showing deployment of forces was also seized from him.

The Samba District Police has said that based on the information received from Military Intelligence with regard to the involvement of Bodh Raj for his espionage activities and passing on vital information regarding deployment and movement of security forces to Pakistan, a special operation was conducted to nab him in the border area of Ramgarh.

Pakistan violating ceasefire to uplift army's moral post surgical strike: Expert

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], Oct. 22 : Defence expert P K Sinho on Saturday said Pakistan will continue violating the ceasefire agreement of November 2003 to uplift the morale of their army and terrorists who have been dealt a severe blow through last month's surgical strike across the Line of Control (LoC) by the Indian Army.

"Pakistan will continue such kind of activities in future also. The reason is that their army, their intelligence services are feeling very demoralised after the surgical strike. These kinds of actions they probably feel will raise the morale and will also give a message that they are active on the border and have not surrendered and are targeting India," Sinho told ANI.

Pakistan: Nisar orders probe into manhandling of female journalist, soldier booked

Karachi/Islamabad [Pakistan], Oct. 22 : Pakistan Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has ordered an inquiry into the manhandling of a female journalist by a Frontier Corps (FC) trooper in Karachi after a video of the incident went viral on social media.

The paramilitary soldier slapped the female reporter of a private news channel at a National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) office in Karachi on Thursday while she was covering the problems and hassles people face at the facility, reports the Express Tribune.

Taking notice of the incident on Friday, Nisar ordered an investigation into the trooper's behaviour.

"Misbehaviour with media representatives cannot be tolerated," said a statement issued by the interior ministry quoted the minister as saying.
