Swine flu takes four more lives in PuneThe number of people losing their lives due to swine flu has reached 31. Four people died due to swine flu on Sunday. Around 15 swine flu patients are critical and fighting for their lives in various hospitals in Pune.

Four recent deaths due to swine flu included a nine-month-old from the Kasewadi slums in Bhawani Peth who was admitted to paediatric isolation ICU of Sassoon hospital on August 26. He died at 7.30 on Sunday.

The 15-month-old girl, Nikita Shendge, was critical when she was shifted to Sassoon hospital on Sunday where she died at 7.40. Earlier she was admitted to from KEM hospital on August 27. Doctors at the Sassoon hospital believe that she could have been saved if doctors at KEM hospital have started Tamiflu at right time. The girl was from Kolhewadi village in Ahmednagar district.  

The third victim was a 42-year-old Vilas Padale of Tungarli village in Lonavla. She was critical when she was shifted to KEM hospital on August 27. Fourth death was of 26-year-old Anil Nikam of Ramnagar in Dhankawadi. He died at the Bharati hospital at 9.30 pm.
