NHAI signs concession agreement for 6-laning of a road stretch in Andhra Pradesh
New Delhi, June 5 : The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has signed a concession agreement for six-laning of 82.5 kilometres long Chilkaluripet-Vijayawada Section (km 355.00-km 434.150) of NH-5 in the State of Andhra Pradesh under NHDP Phase-V.
The project has been awarded on BOT (toll) basis on Design-Build-Finance-Operate (DBFO) pattern.
The total project cost is Rs. 675.38 Crores and the concession period is 15 years including construction period of two and a half years.
The project has adequate provision of bridges, fly-overs, vehicular under passes, ROBs, pedestrians under passes, and automatic traffic counter, variable message signs and closed circuit telephone cameras.
There will be a 152.5 kilometres long service road on both sides throughout the project.
The agreement was signed by NHAI in the presence of N. Gokulram, Chairman NHAI with M/s IJM Corporation Berhad-IDFC (joint venture). (ANI)
