Nearly three dozens new cars to hit Indian roads in 2013Indian car market remained really tough for manufacturer during 2012. Even the festive season of Dusshera and Diwali failed to boost car sales. But, that didn't bothered manufacturers, who are preparing to launch nearly three dozen models during 2013.

The new vehicles will be from across various categories, such as compact cars, ultra-premium compact cars, premium SUVs, lifestyle cars, super cars and vans.

Maruti Suzuki, the country's biggest car maker by volume sales, has plans to roll out a total of nine models in 2013, with a new version of A-Star being one of them.

Tata Motors has plans to roll out the long-anticipated diesel-powered model of its low-cost Nano car in the second half of 2013. But before launching the diesel model, the auto giant will roll out the CNG version of the car.

The Mumbai-based manufacturer has declined to reveal its future model line-up, but sources also suggest that the company will also launch a compact version of the Manza sedan.

Hyundai Motor India will launch a small diesel-powered version of one of its popular hatchbacks. The widely popular i10 may also get a facelift.

Ford India is gearing up for introducing a sub 4-metre mini SUV, which will enjoy a substantial relief in excise duty.

Nissan India, Italian car maker Fiat, and luxury car makers Mercedes-Benz and BMW are also preparing to launch their respective new models in India in 2013.
