ICL's First Final Win By Lahore BadshahsAt Sardar Patel Stadium, Lahore Badshahs defeated Hyderabad Heroes in the first final of the Indian Cricket League’s 20s tournament. Chasing a target of 171, Badshahs survived a middle-order collapse before reaching the target in 19.1 overs in the best-of-three finals. 

Imran Nazir started beautifully with two sixes and three fours in 10 balls to amass 28 runs in two overs before getting out at the hands of Justin Kemp at mid-on on Abdul Razzaq delivery in the next over.

Cricket Australia CEO calls for harsher penaltiesMelbourne, Nov. 14 : Cricket Australia Chief Executive James Sutherland has called for the introduction of harsher penalties for slow over rates, including docking of championship or rankings points.

According to The Ages, Sutherland said the game lacked the necessary sanctions to prevent teams falling behind in their allocated overs. He suggested a more emphatic system of punishment than the current fines and suspensions in place, citing the Sheffield Shield approach of docking points from slow-going teams.

Injured Ishant to miss first one-dayer

Ishant SharmaSince Ishant Sharma has suffered an ankle injury and has been advised to rest for five days, it seems that the man would definitely miss the first ODI against England, to be played in Rajkot on November 14, and could well sit out the second game too.

Through a release, N Srinivasan, secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, informed, "Ishant Sharma has got a mild ankle sprain and he has been advised rest for five days. He is undergoing his rehabilitation at present and is making good progress. Hence he would not be available for the first ODI against England."

Kolkata media arranged farewell party for Dada

Sourav GangulyMembers of the media community of Kolkata arranged a function on Sunday to honor cricketer Sourav Ganguly. Sourav has decided to take retirement from the international cricket after the conclusion of the India-Australia Test series, completing his 13-year cricket career.

Journalists across the city gathered here and honoured his contribution to the Indian cricket. They asked him to lead young cricketers from the state to glorify the name of West Bengal.

Sourav's wife Dona and daughter Sana were also present at the function.

Australian media criticized PontingFormer players and the Australian media have criticized Ricky Ponting for 'baffling' captaincy in the recent match. Australian media alleged that Ponting used part-timers to try to improve over rate to save his captaincy.

It is to be noted that Ricky has employed part timers instead of his regular pacers after the tea interval during the fifth day of the Nagpur Test. He actually wanted to step up the slow over-rate to avoid a ban in the next Test match.

He said that it was, infact, a small gathering of close friends who were dancing and enjoying in his apartment on music beats. He criticized his neighbors for spreading baseless rumors for cheap publicity. Regarding the charges of bleeding, Sreesanth said it was due to the injury, caused by fall of a brick on the head of one of his friend.
