From Monday onwards, Over 120 Indian ambassadors will start a specially convened two-day meeting in the capital. The focus will be on the fallout of the Mumbai attacks and ties with Pakistan. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee will speak to the envoys. Home Minister P Chidambaram is also likely to attend.

Giving a stern warning to Pakistan, Congress President Sonia Gandhi said, "Let me make it clear to our neighbouring country (Pakistan) that we have all the competence and power to give a befitting reply to the use of its soil by terrorists, who mount assaults on India."

While speaking at an election rally in Suchetgarh, 30 km west of Jammu, she further said, "Our intention to settle issues through dialogue and mutual cooperation should not be misunderstood as our weakness."

A rumour of death of two infants after taking polio drops, triggers panic among parents in the Karnataka-Tamil Nadu border. A local Kannada channel news telecast that many children in Bangalore had died after taking the drops, also created panic in different parts of the city. 

London, December 22: Over 10 million of the 13 million songs available on the Internet failed to find a single buyer last year, according to a study of digital music sales.

The study by Will Page, chief economist of the not-for-profit royalty collection society MCPS-PRS Alliance, contrasts Chris Anderson's prediction in his 2006 book `The Long Tail' that the internet economy would shift from a relatively small number of "hits" - mainstream products - at the head of the demand curve toward a "huge number of niches in the tail".

Its findings suggest that the niche market is not an untapped goldmine, and that online sales success still relies on big hits.

A team of surgeons successfully removed a six feet iron rod from the stomach of a 21-year-old man. It is a miracle for Santosh Kumar, who is a construction worker and had a nightmarish experience when a six feet iron rod fell from the 10th floor of the building at the construction site and pierced his body through shoulder and abdomen before coming out through his left thigh. It had penetrated his intestines in multiple locations and made 16 holes.
