India moves to third in Reliance Mobile ICC ODI Championship

International Cricket CouncilDubai, Nov. 18 : India has moved up two places from fifth to third position on the Reliance Mobile ICC ODI Championship table after beating England in the opening two matches of the seven-ODI series currently taking place in India.

In turn, England now sits in sixth position having slipped from third following the two comprehensive defeats. Having lost three ratings points, England now sits just behind New Zealand by a fraction of a point.

India's finance minister asks industry to cut prices New Delhi  - Indian Finance Minister P Chidamabaram on Tuesday asked industry to cut prices and maintain production levels and said he was confident that the economy would bounce back in a year, news reports said.

"We will take steps to stimulate the domestic economy to compensate for the downside caused by the downturn in the world economy," Chidambaram said at the Davos-based World Economic Forum's India Economic Summit in New Delhi.

Das Kapital soon to be launched in Japanese manga comic version

London, November 18: A manga comic version of Karl Marx’s anti-capitalist book ‘Das Kapital’ is all set to hit bookshelves in Japan.

The new book will present Marx’s complex ideas in such comical format that they will be very easy to understand.

The comic version Das Kapital will be published on December 5 by Tokyo-based publishing company East Press.

The printing of this book is being seen as a sign of resurgence of leftwing literature in Japan, reports the Telegraph.

With the world’s second largest economy sinking into recession, according to media reports, a boom in Communist Party membership and a fashionable revival of anti-capitalist literature is being observed in Japan.

Qureshi’s India visit on 25-26 NovIslamabad, Nov 18 : Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi will be visiting India on November 25-26 to complete his earlier visit made in June, which had to be cut short due to a political turmoil in his home country.

Quereshi’s visit will be the continuation of an earlier visit in June this year which remained incomplete because he had to return unexpectedly, reported The News.

During his visit, the Pakistani foreign minister will be meeting with the women journalists’ press body in New Delhi, and also attend a meeting of the farmers’ association in Chandigarh.
