Kobian, one of the well-known vendors in the IT hardware sector, announced that it has been awarded ‘Best PC Casing (Cabinet)’ and ‘Best Speaker for its Mercury iXA range of Speakers’  by VARIndia at its Annual Star Nite Awards, held in the Hotel Eros InterContinental on Nov 14, 2008.
 
IXA speaker range is the fresh range rolled out by the company. The lifestyle product range from Mercury has been branded as iXA with Sub Woofers and Home Theatre systems being the first of the range announced in India.
 
The VARIndia Star Nite awards recognizes outstanding vendors in over 50 product and service sections, which include server and network hardware, database software, storage management and security.  

Award nominees for the different categories were determined by feedback from clients and channel partners and studies made through VARIndia's print and online media in metropolitan areas and B- and C-class cities.

The criteria used to determine the award winners included: market penetration, product performance, commitment to channel partners, and operational effectiveness, incorporating logistics, service support and responsiveness to customers.
 
Currently, Kobian offers products that go into building a PC. This includes motherboards, cabinets, speakers, cases, DVD media, graphic cards and UPS. The award for the Best Cabinet seems to have become a habit with Kobian now with new range of cabinets being announced by the brand. This was the fourth award for the best casing won by Kobian in a row.
 
Mr. Sandeep Sharma, Vice President – India Operations, Kobian, was present to receive the award on behalf of company.

He added, “I am really happy for the iXA speaker award this time from VAR India. I had received the award on behalf of Kobian during the first award night held by VAR India when I was the RM – North India in Kobian. Since then both the organizations have grown and share a very close and healthy relationship. I am happy for the casing team across the globe since they have been able to give us new and innovative designs each year not compromising on the quality in spite of so many unheard of brands announcing cabinets every year.”

Moreover, Kobian has launched the Atom CPU casing in October 2008. IT is the new chip on the block which Kobian feels will be the much talked about product for the next two quarters.
