Facebook to ease off the privacy settings
Facebook has proclaimed that it wants to simplify the security settings, following the circulating controversies that take care of the users' privacy. The Vice-President of Facebook, Eliot Schrage stated that the company is putting in efforts to protect the privacy data and make the settings simpler for users to access, as reported to The Financial Times.
This step has been taken due to the reports that revealed that Google searches for "deleting Facebook account" doubled in the previous week. It seemed that the social networking site is facing huge criticism when it altered its default privacy settings and made it available to 'everyone'.
Matters worsened as the European Data Protection officials claimed of losing their personal data and also, Facebook's reputation was being compromised as well. However Facebook denied of any such claims and denied of any loss of user base. The time-trial will decide how it will fare against these rising controversies.
