Eric Schmidt’s new book describes China as 'most sophisticated hacker' of foreign firms

Eric Schmidt’s new book describes China as 'most sophisticated hacker' of foreign firmsAccording to a Wall Street Journal (WSJ) report, Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt's new book - titled `The New Digital Age' - clearly conveys his views about China, which he has described as the world's "most sophisticated and prolific hacker" of foreign companies.

With the WSJ report quoting extracts from Schmidt's book in which China has been described as a dangerous superpower which is making use of "illicit competition" to keep rivals away, it is likely that the book - which is scheduled to be released in April - will probably stir up the already tense relations that Google and China have at present.

Given the fact that Google has repeatedly clashed with the authorities in Beijing, Schmidt's book - which has been co-authored by Jared Cohen - implicitly projects China as "the most active and enthusiastic filterer of information" in the world.

Noting that China appears to be willing to use underhand technology tactics for industrial espionage, thereby putting foreign companies at in a disadvantage position, Schmidt and Cohen have put forth the opinion that China's extremely effective use of technology may probably come back to haunt the company, which may see "some kind of revolution in the coming decades."

Further elaborating that China may witness "widespread instability" at some point in the future, Schmidt and Cohen said in the book that a "mix of active citizens armed with technological devices and tight government control is exceptionally volatile."
