BJP manifesto for Andhra assembly election to be released on Mar. 14
Hyderabad, Mar. 10 : The Bhartiya Janata Party manifesto for Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, which will be released on March 14, has specific schemes for newborn girl child, welfare of farmers and senior citizens.
Under BJP's the ''Adabidda Andalam'' scheme, Rs. 21,016 would be deposited for every girl born in the state. About two lakh rupees would be given to her when she attains the age of 18, the party''s manifesto committee chairman C Vidyasagar Rao told reporters.
The manifesto also makes great promises for the agriculture sector.
Another schemes aims at empowering the substantial youth population called, ''Youth Empowerment Scheme'' (YES), Rao said.
A program to link the land-locked Telangana region with sea has also been promised.
BJP's National Executive member Nirmala Sitaraman, who was instrumental in preparing the manifesto, said the scheme is based on the technology used in Three Gorges Dam in China and similar technology used in other countries.
A children''s commission would also be set up if the party came to power. (ANI)
