ZTE Corporation, a top supplier of telecommunication equipment and network solutions, has broken its all previous records by selling about 10 million mobile phones in the Indian market.

He Shiyou, senior vice president, ZTE Corporation said, “The company has taken advantage of the enormous opporunity in India, which is the fastest growing telecom market in the world. We have been investing in handsets R&D for almost a decade, which leads to the sales of 10 million handsets in India.”

ZTE already has solid coactions with a number of well-known telecommunication service providers that includes Reliance Communications, Tata Teleservices, Bharti Airtel. It also supplies terminals and mobile handsets of different levels to Indian providers.

ZTE is the top handsets provider in China. It has sold more than 60 million handsets throughout the world.

In the first half of the existing year (2007), the company tops the ranking among the Chinese makers and is ranked 5th in the world with sales volume of 15 million units.
