Zooey Deschanel Likely To Star In Spider-Man 3D
The revived 'Spiderman' series has generated enough hype with its star cast alone. If rumors are to be believed, the latest addition to the cast of the film might be Zooey Deschanel. This 30-year-old star had previously worked with Marc Webb, also the director of the new 'Spiderman' movie, in '500 Days of Summer'. It has been reported that Webb is still in talks with Deschanel and nothing has been finalized yet.
Zooey Deschanel had done several supporting roles in the past in movies like "Failure To Launch", "Elf" and "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". In this spidey movie, Deschanel has reportedly been offered the role of Betty Brant, the hot PA of Jonah Jameson who is the editor-in-chief of Daily Bugle. Although the role of Betty Brant was a minor one in the previous installations of the 'Spiderman' movies, Webb has greater plans this time. Betty Brant was the original love interest of the superhero. This aspect will be explored in Spider-Man 3D, which is scheduled for a July 3, 2012 Release.
According to sources, the role of Betty in the new 'Spiderman' movie calls for a strong performer and Zooey is perfect for it. This actress, model and musician is undoubtedly beautiful and sexy but she does not seem inaccessible like a star from the cover of Vogue. One can easily relate to her as Deschanel seems more like a girl from the neighborhood or from work. She would make a very believable PA of a newspaper editor.
