Zardari not in run for Pak PM
Karachi, Feb. 4: Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari is not vying for the slot of Pakistan Prime MInister in case his party manages to form the government after emerging as a majority party in the wake of elections.
The Nation quoted him as saying that his main task was to strengthen and unite the Pakistan People’s Party.
A close aide of PPP Co-Chairman Asif Zardari asserted that Mr Zardari was not ambitious for holding the slot of Prime Minister, stating that after the martyrdom of PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto, some high-ups from the Presidency had met him at Naudero and offered him the PM’s slot in the caretaker set-up, a scheme aimed at postponing elections for two years.
