YRF clarifies ‘baseless’ rumors about Shahid-Rani starrer
According to tabloid reports, the Yash Raj banner film tentatively titled 'Hadippa' - with Rani Mukherjee and Shahid Kapoor in the lead - has been plagued with incorrect news, one after the other, right from the outset.
To begin with, there was a rumor that producer Aditya Chopra is not happy being with debutant director Anurag Singh's work on the film. Then, there were also reports that Rani was ghost directing the film and the next schedule was being planned with Aditya Chopra taking over the direction. Later, it was said that Rani had a rift with co-star Shahid Kapoor on the sets.
Finally, to put all the rumors to rest, Yash Raj Fims(YRF) has come out with a clarification, stating that all these rumors are baseless.
The production house said: "Yashraj films would like to clarify that the name of the film has not yet been finalized and is slated as per plan for release in 2009. All reports about the involvement of actors other than as mentioned above are baseless and untrue. The film is sixty per cent complete. The production of the film is as per schedule and the next schedule is in January as per plan."
A source close to Yashraj also clarified that there are too many false reports circulating against the actors of the film. The allegations against Rani and Shahid were termed as rubbish and baseless, and both of them were described as "very professional actors."
