It has been informed by the most popular video sharing site, Youtube, that it will make sure to include more music and less sex content, a move which is being seen as the site’s makeover.

YouTube that belongs to search giant Google, has informed about its plans under which it is looking forward to revise its policies surrounding mature content, which would be put to effect immediately. Any content that shows video of people in minimal or revealing clothes will be tagged as sexually suggestive, under the new guidelines.

There would be no entry for videos that feature sexually explicit content like act of real sex. Contens displaying nudity or dramatized sexual content would be tagged as sexually suggestive, depending on whether or not it is designed to arouse the viewers.

Basically, if one can define nudity, it will include ‘exposed or partially covered genitalia, buttocks, or breasts, as well as sheer clothing’. The site said, “All contents tagged as sexually suggestive, under the revised policies, will be flagged as age-restricted and such content will be algorithmically demoted on Youtube's primary pages - lists like the most viewed or top favorite videos.”

However, it is important to note that there are some exceptions to the sexually-suggestive definition - educational, artistic, documentary and scientific content. To illustrate an example, a documentary on breast cancer will not be tagged as sexually suggestive.
