Yahoo’s Weather App now available on iPad

Yahoo’s Weather App now available on iPadInternet search giant Yahoo Inc has finally made its award-winning weather app available on the Apple's iOS-based iPad tablet.

Adam Mathes, director of mobile weather products management at Yahoo, said that the new app would offer immediate smart summary of weather information along with photography on the larger screen.

Announcing the availability of the app on the iPad, Mathes said, "We've created a spectacular new design that takes advantage of the larger screen. You'll immediately see a smart summary of weather data along with curated photography."

Scrolling the app make weather forecasts, graphs, and other data pleasantly animate with every interaction. For instance, users will see raindrops falling, clouds moving in and the Sun rising.

Users of the app will also be able to share weather data with friends and relatives through text and email, as well as social-networking service Facebook and Twitter.

Yahoo has also updated its Screen app, which was introduced as a free outlet for TV and video streaming on iOS-based devices in September. The app has been updated with additional user customization options, such as the ability to follow TV channels and save streamed videos for later viewing.

Both Yahoo Weather and Yahoo Screen can be downloaded now from the iTunes Store.
