Yahoo to launch overhauled home page on Tuesday
California-based Yahoo Inc will launch its overhauled Internet home page on Tuesday, hoping new home page would revive its recession-mired brand and business.
Yahoo's new home page, which merges company's collection of online content and products of well-liked social networking sites such as Facebook, has more than 250 million users all over the world.
Tapan Bhat, senior vice president for integrated consumer experience said, "This new home page is a platform for future growth."
Yahoo's current move aims at bring back its lost stance, which was snatched by the other popular sites such as MySpace, Facebook and Twitter.
Though, Yahoo has lost many of its users to other popular sites, yet comScore Inc, an online research firm recorded 570 million people used Yahoo.
The company also hopes more success with advertisers as new home page will also contain some advertising opportunities as customers move their mouse across a personalized application menu, which is made available on the left-hand side.
In addition, Yahoo is refurbishing its mobile site. When users customize Yahoo for use with usual computers, that customization will carry over to their mobile account. Yahoo closed at $17.01 on Monday, up from $14.38 two weeks ago.
