Winona Ryder hospitalized after falling ill on plane
London - Hollywood actress Winona Ryder was briefly taken to a London clinic Wednesday after falling ill on a flight from Los Angeles but was discharged a few hours later, British Airways said.
The 37-year-old actress was treated by medics at London's Heathrow airport before being taken to the nearby Hillingdon Hospital at noon, BA said.
The captain of the BA flight from Los Angeles to London had requested a priority landing after Ryder became ill.
The airline said the crew looked after Ryder as much as they could while on board. No further details about the nature of her illness or her condition were given.
Ryder, who started acting when she was a teenager, has starred in a series of acclaimed films including Martin Scorseses' "The Age of Innocence," "The Crucible," "The House of Spirits," "Mermaids," Girl, Interrupted" and "Edward Scissorhands." (dpa)
