Western Orissa under scorching blaze of sun

Hot-WeatherA soaring 45.6 degrees in Western Orissa has been reported, as the temperature continues to torment the residents.

In view of the rising temperature the coastal regions are also believed to have reported a rise in overall rise in mercury, yet the conditions are better off than other regions like Sambalpur, Hirakud, Jharsugoda etc.

The titillating heat topped in Hirakud posing a maximum of 45.2 degrees, whereas areas like Jharsuguda and Titlagarh continued to boil at 45 degrees. In case of Sundargarh the temperature reported was 44.5 degrees, while Angul showed 44.3 degrees and Balangir and Baripada came up with 44.2 degrees.

Bhubaneswar got some relief as the temperature was reported to fall from 41.2 to 40.2 the previous day.

However, the major issue with the rising heat is the deaths associated with sunstroke as 28 already are suspected dead and with the upheaval to increase even further the lives of many are at risk.
