Videocon Mobile Service has decided to provide free local calls to its customers in Tamil Nadu Telecom circle. The latest price war in the Indian telecom market has made Videocon to rethink its strategies.

After Tata Docomo, almost every telecom service provider have started the ‘per second billing’ in spite of huge decline in revenue.  Videocon is one of the leading service providers in southern part of India and has a reasonably good consumer base. The company is expecting to attract new customers as well as satisfy its existing customers by offering such free local call plans.

The customers need to recharge with Rs 99 to get the plan activated. By activating the plan, the user can make free local calls of 18 minutes from Videocon to Videocon and 15 minutes from Videocon to other networks. These free talk times will be provided to the customers on daily basis.

Moreover, the company has also launched its GPRS/WAP services in the state. The features are named as V-Live and V-Internet. All subscribers of Videocon will be receiving the internet access automatically. The company is also planning to move other part of the country soon.
