Uttarakhand – the next auto hub

UttarakhandAfter the industry has seen a boom in the Gurgaon and Noida belt as far as the establishment of automotive hubs is concerned, experts are of a view that it is now thee turn of Uttarakhand to attract a lot of investment from the industry.

It is believed that till now the Pune auto belt has been one of the most successful auto hubs present in the country but according to a source in the industry, with players like Tata Motors, Hero Honda and Bajaj Auto, which have set up their manufacturing units here, are in talks with the state government to make the state an auto hub in the times to come.

The source further added that the government is very much interested in the proposition and is collecting much-needed information on the free land available that could later be capitalised by the auto companies if they want to expand in the region.

Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said that most of the auto companies operating in the state are keen on expanding their capacities. It may be noted here since the state offer excise exemptions, it makes the destination a very attractive point in the automotive industry.
