US needs Pak help to tackle terrorism in Afghanistan, says Richard Boucher
Lahore, July 30 : US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Richard Boucher has reportedly said that the US could not tackle extremism and terrorism in Afghanistan without the help of Pakistan.
He also said that Pakistan could defeat terrorism and extremism only when it was willing to use military power against them.
And, Pakistan would also have to take support of local tribesmen in its tribal areas and start economic development in these areas to win the war on terror, the Daily Times quoted him as saying.
The US completely supported Pakistan’s multi-prolonged strategy against the war on terror, he added. (ANI)
