US man finds stolen car on Ebay after 42 years
A 66-year-old retired man has recovered prized sports car after 42 years as he spotted the vehicle on online auction site, Ebay.
Robert Russell, a former sales manager from Southlake in Texas recovered his vehicle in California. He said that he never stopped looking for his 1967 Austin-Healey after it was stolen from his Philadelphia home in 1970. He said that he had paid a friend $3000 for the car.
Russell said that the vehicle was of sentimental value because he had taken his future wife on a date and lost the car to the theft on the next morning. He has spent years looking for his vehicle on the internet but could not find it.
After he spotted the car on Ebay, he called the car dealership that was offering the car from Beverly Hills. He confirmed that the vehicle's identification number matched that of his car. Russell and his wife, Cynthia have collected their lost possession from Los Angeles. The vehicle is now valued at about $23,000.
"It still runs, but the brakes don't work well. We're going to put it back the way it was," said Russell.
