UK retailers expects new-look Wii to go on sale for under £80
Retailers in the UK have said that they expect the new-look Wii for under £80 during the forth quarter of the year.
Even as the trade prices are not expected to drop, the retailers are ready to reduce the price to below £80. However, the price cut might only be for promotion. The new device is used horizontally instead of vertically.
A new Wii hardware price and Mario Kart bundle caused the sales to rise significantly in the month of May and retailers are aiming to increase sales again with the price cut.
"The trade price will be similar to previous Wii bundles. At this stage in the console's lifecycle we want to offer potential customers good value bundles that include `must have' games that family and friends can play together," said a spokesperson from Nintendo.
