UK car production grows 90% in March
The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders said today that the UK car production was reported up by 90.2% in the month of March. The March growth was reported the fifth in a row. The SMMT also said that the commercial vehicle output and engine production in March were also reported up by 61.6% and 43.6% respectively. UK was reported the fourth largest automotive manufacturer in Europe, according to SMMT.
"UK automotive production continued to make progress in March with strong growth in commercial vehicle, engine and car production," said Paul Everitt, chief executive of SMMT.
The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders released its data of motor manufacturing for the month of March today. According to SMMT, U. K. car production in March was reported of 177622 units, increasing by 90.2% comparing to the same month last year.
The data showed that the car production was reported of 316067 units in the first three months of the year, increasing by73% comparing to the same period last year.
According to the data of SMMT, the commercial vehicle production was reported of 13046 units in the month of March. The U. K. engine production was reported of 234506 units in March, increasing by 44% comparing to the same period last year.
