UB Group Makes Top Level Changes
New Delhi: To fortify the administration of its beverage alcohol companies, Vijay Mallya -led The UB Group has made changes in key ranks in Whyte & Mackay, United Spirits and United Breweries.
The company release said that Mr, Ashwin Malik, who has been working with the Group for last 19 years has been promoted as Chief Executive of Whyte and Mackay Ltd. Mr. Malik will move to Glasgow, Scotland to handle the biggest ever attainment made by the Group. On the other hand, Mr. Ashok Capoor has been given the position of Deputy President of United Spirits Ltd. In his new responsibility he will be responsible for all five Regional Profit Centres of the Group.
Mr. Shekhar Ramamurthy, who has been working with the UB Group for the last 18 years, has been promoted as Deputy President of United Breweries Ltd. He would take care of company’s functioning’s plus managing sales and marketing processes.
Having played a major role in the recent huge acquirements and investments of the Group, Mr. Harish Bhat has been shifted to the rank of Deputy President and Group Treasurer.
While commenting on the alterations, the UB Group Chairman Mr. Vijay Mallya said, “As the UB Group marches forward from strength to strength, increasing its leadership position in its core businesses and creating extraordinary stakeholder value, I felt it necessary to strengthen the management team going forward in our beverage alcohol companies.”
He also said, “The advancements would escort the UB Group’s core beverage alcohol business into the next decade continually improving operating performance and enhance stake holder value''.
