Two officials of Pak atomic energy panel abducted

Peshawar, Feb 12: Two officials working with the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission have been abducted from Sheikh Badin area adjacent to the Lakki Marwat and Dera Ismail Khan districts of Pakistan.

Suspected militants have also kidnapped officials’ driver and five local men.

PAEC officials Ziaullah (principal technician), Bisaat Khan (junior technician) and driver Safdar had come to Darra Pezu town of Lakki Marwat to check a booster installed on the Sheikh Badin Mountain, the Dawn reported.

According to sources, the officials stayed overnight in Darra Pezu with two local men, Javed and Wahid, and left for the site in a pick-up.

They further revealed that some gunmen had intercepted the PAEC vehicle on a mountainous track and kidnapped all the eight men.

The local men were later freed in Noorar area of Bannu district. (ANI)
